Clear aligner therapy has taken the teeth-straightening market by storm. More and more adults are straightening their teeth because of the discretion of orthodontics that are almost invisible and ideal for busy adults on the go.
Dr. Marcovici is a general dentist with extensive training in the clear aligner systems. She can help you get the straight smile you’ve always wanted.
If your teeth are overlapping, squished together or are otherwise too crowded in your jaw, Invisalign and SureSmile can help fix the crowding. Crowded teeth make it difficult to keep your teeth clean and can increase your risk for cavities or gum disease. Clear aligners are a great solution for crowded teeth.
Are your teeth crooked? Maybe you have one or two teeth that have bothered you your whole life but have talked yourself out of braces because it seemed excessive just to fix one or two teeth. When your teeth are crooked, it can impact your confidence and your ability to brush and floss well, and clear aligners may be just the solution you’ve been looking for.
An overbite is where your upper teeth extend beyond your lower teeth. An underbite is where your bottom teeth come together in front of your upper teeth. In both cases clear aligners may be able to solve your problem. Both bite issues can make chewing difficult. If you want to correct an underbite or overbite, ask us about SureSmile and Invisalign.
An open bite is when there is a large space between the top and bottom front teeth. When you bite, the front teeth do not touch. An open bite can make eating certain foods more difficult, and it can affect your speech. Clear Aligners can be effective at repairing open bite.
Sometimes part of the upper teeth will rest inside the lower teeth when the mouth is closed, which is called a crossbite. Clear aligners may be able to slowly shift teeth into a correct biting position. Sometimes having a crossbite can cause teeth to wear unevenly. It also makes chewing food more difficult.
Having gaps between your teeth can cause you to hide your smile. Many people with gapped teeth have found comfort in clear aligner therapy. Their gapped teeth slowly move together over the course of a few months, leaving them smiling with pride.
Conveniently located to serve the amazing people of North Reading, Reading, Andover, Tewskbery, and North Wilmington.
Once you’ve been approved for Invisalign or SureSmile, Dr. Marcovici takes digital impressions of your teeth and maps out your treatment plan. We will send your information to the lab, where they make your custom series of clear aligners. We fit you with our first set in office, and each set of aligners is worn for a few weeks before switching to the next set. Each set is measured and made to gradually shift your teeth where they need to go next. Aligners should be work for 22-24 hours per day during treatment–and when it’s all over, you won’t be able to stop smiling!
Clear aligners are easy to care for. Remove them to eat or drink and then brush your teeth and rinse your mouth before replacing them. To clean them, simply brush them or rinse them. You can remove them to floss and brush like normal. If you play sports, you can remove the aligner to wear a mouthguard. If you have questions about your aligners or if one breaks, call us right away and we can help you.
